Barbara A. Feinstein, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Caribbean and Haitian Affairs, reiterated on Friday, August 4th, the United States' support for deploying a multinational force in Haiti. The American diplomat called on the international community to support this initiative and join Kenya, which has proposed to lead such a mission. Feinstein expressed optimism regarding the adoption of a resolution to this effect at the UN Security Council.
