Women's World Cup: Haiti loses to China but remains alive in the race for qualification

The Haitian women's football team let slip a victory that was well within their reach against China on Friday, July 22, at Hindmarsh Stadium in Adelaide. Against all expectations, the Grenadières were defeated 0-1. However, they still have a chance to qualify for the Round of 16 in the FIFA Women's World Cup, Australia, and New Zealand 2023.

In the starting lineup of the Grenadières, Melchie Dumornay was notably absent, and to replace her in the midfield, Maudeline Moryl was fielded alongside Dayana Pierre-Louis and Sherly Jeudy. The rest of the lineup saw Kerly Théus retaining her position as the goalkeeper. Bethina Petit-Frère, Tabita Joseph, Kethna Louis, and Ruthny Mathurin formed the defensive line, while the offensive trident remained the same with Batcheba Louis, Roselord Borgella, and Nérilia Mondésir.
