Quisqueya University Conference Tackles the Powerlessness of Security Forces: PNH, FADH, BINUH

"The Haitian security forces: Capacities, limitations, and international cooperation" was the theme of the 5th panel discussion at the International Conference on Insecurity in Haiti, organized by Quisqueya University on June 28th and 29th, 2023, through the Zoom digital platform. Moderated by Frantz Duval, editor-in-chief of the daily newspaper Le Nouvelliste, the panel included Frantz Elbé, Director General of the Haitian National Police (HNP), represented by Figaro Aurelus, Director of the Police Academy, Lieutenant General Jodel Lessage, Commander-in-Chief of the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd'H), and Papa Samba Mbodj, Police Commissioner and Chief of the United Nations Police within BINUH.

Although running behind schedule, the moderator ensured that the panel, bringing together Haiti's three main law enforcement agencies, fulfilled its promises. Frantz Duval proposed questions about potential strategies and perspectives that could be considered to enhance the effectiveness of the security forces in the future, allowing the presenters to provide more precise interventions.
