Haitian leaders are received with great pomp in all international meetings. The red carpet is rolled out for them. Yet, in Haiti, democracy is in disarray. There isn't a single elected official in office, and no elections are scheduled. Massacres and serious human rights violations continue to occur. Their frequency no longer surprises anyone. Communicators and report authors have already approved all the talking points to describe our descent into hell. Criminal gangs spread terror consistently.
