The capacity of the cholera treatment center in Jacmel has been overwhelmed by the number of cholera cases reported from June 1st to June 6th, 2023, according to Nurse Dénis Marie Mercedes Alexis, head of nursing care and spokesperson for the Departmental Directorate of Public Health in the Southeast. She confirms that over the course of six days, more than ten deaths due to cholera have been recorded at the specialized center in Saint-Michel.
