Prosper Avril served as a lieutenant general of the Haitian Armed Forces and de facto president of the Republic from September 17, 1988, to March 10, 1990. However, it is primarily as an author that he has been a part of Livres en folie since 1997, like hundreds of other authors who have been highlighted since 1995.
