Rising Insecurity in Haiti Shuts Down US Mango Market, Triggers Economic Tsunami

The US has ceased the mechanism that allowed Haiti to export its mangoes. With the closure of the mango pre-clearance program by the US Department of Agriculture, export losses will range from 10 to 15 million US dollars. The US Department of Agriculture is closing the mango export pre-clearance program due to increasing insecurity in Haiti. The official notice will be communicated shortly.
