The opening of this cultural center is the initiative of the National Coalition for the evolution and fishing in Haiti (RANEPH in French). It was financed by the European Union as part of the European Program for Culture and was implemented by the Volunteer Development in Haiti (VDH) together with COOPI and the AfricAmerica Foundation.

Saint-Marc welcomes its first art gallery
On April 27th, the first art gallery in Saint-Marc was opened. Arnoux Descardes,Executive Director of Volunteer Development in Haiti (VDH), inaugurated the Armani-y Gallery which is located at #190 Rue Pétion. It is not only the first art gallery in Saint-Marc, but the first in the lower Artibonite.
