This approach is part of an agricultural infrastructure development and agribusiness program. Seven billion gourdes are mobilized for the implementation of this program during the first year. According to Minister Laleau, these funds will be used to build agricultural infrastructure and support the agricultural entrepreneurs. To make agriculture an engine of the economy, Wilson Laleau, Minister of Economy and Finance, said that the Ministry has touched the main problems the sector is facing. After a diagnosis, it was concluded that this sector faces many other challenges. To address these issues, a program was developed. During the next fiscal year, funds will be made available to the sector. This program will take into account irrigation problems while focusing on technology transfer.
