In the lobby of the Marriott Hotel in Turgeau, minutes before the opening ceremony of this major event, excitement is in the air. Several foreign delegations are housed at the hotel. Also present was Irwin LaRocque, Secretary General of CARICOM, accompanied by his wife and children.
It is 5: 55 pm, and the parade of countries has probably already started, as the opening ceremony is scheduled for 6 pm. At the Hotel Montana, the atmosphere is different. This is the calm in that space which nevertheless houses a beautiful part of the delegations.

It’s really happening!!! Carifesta, the largest arts festival in the Caribbean is truly happening. The city is buzzing. All delegations participating in the twelfth edition of Carifesta are already enjoying our hotels, our cuisine, our art, and our originality. Carifesta is the union of more than a dozen nations for a cultural bath with local flavors.
