One year after the launch of the aerial seeding campaign, there is hope. In the northern part of the chain of Matheux, especially in the first communal section of St. Marc and Bois-Neuf, trees begin to come out of the earth. The Semarouba glauca, commonly known as Frenn in Haiti grows in profusion. The adjacent fields at the mountainside is dotted with this precious resource.
Supported by the Ministry of Environment, some residents of the localities of Trou Jean-Pierre and Mare Rouge engage in tree protection works to ensure their maturation.
