This project erecting drywall over a length of 220 linear meters is funded at 400,000 USD by the RVC. The work will be performed by the OIM and local partners, according to note from the United Nations Mission in Haiti.
With the completion of this work, the pipeline, cleaning, and the rehabilitation of the canals, Bienac communities in particular, and the city of Gonaives in general, will be protected from flood risks and other health related public sanitation problems.

The Division for Community Violence Reduction (RVC in French) for the Minustah, the International Organization for Migration (OIM in French), and other partners launched phase 4 and 5 of the construction of the Bienac canal in the presence of Erick André, Deputy Mayor, Elan Dubois, Departmental Delegate representative, engineer William Frantz, representative of the Departmental Directorate of Public Works, Michael Goble and Drew Kutschenreuter, respectively representatives of MINUSTAH and OIM.
