New measures to strengthen security in the metropolitan area

In recent weeks, crime has spiked in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince. No fewer than five people were killed, including 4 in Delmas and another in Pétion-Ville. The Haitian government announced measures to quell banditry and insecurity in the country as the holiday season approaches.

As president of the Superior Council of the National Police (CSPN in French), Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe launched the Security Plan of the metropolitan area in June to deal with problems of insecurity rising a notch in the country.
