8,700 immigrant Haitians identified in a month

On August 25th, Francois Guillaume II, Minister of Haitians Living Abroad, , apresented the results of the Identification and Documentation of Haitian Immigrants Program (PIDIH in French). The Minister accompanied by several General Directors, announced measures to meet the demand of as many citizens as possible during the project.

No fewer than 8,700 Haitian nationals applied for identification documents under the PIDIH program in the Dominican Republic. Since the program was launched on July 21st, more than a thousand immigrants a day have visited the center located in a residential area of the Dominican capital.
