"Military engineers" at work in the Artibonite

During a visit of on Thursday April 10th at Petite-Rivière of the Artibonite, Lener Renauld, Minister of Defense, accompanied by senior members of his cabinet, including Carel Alexandre, General Director, reviewed the different projects carried out by the Haitian Military Engineering Corps (CORGE in French) who seem to have taken over well since the departure of the Ecuadorian soldiers in December 2013.

Some would say that Martelly’s army slowly took shape. At Petite Rivière of the Artibonite, all of the military personnel welcomed the new Minister of Defense to their base as part of his first official outing. After a guided tour of the various areas of the establishment where 30 soldiers and 10 officers train daily and attend training sessions. Minister Renaud, followed by members of his delegation, went to look at a stretch of road linking the Fort Road to Crête-à-Pierrot. This road which was rehabilitated by the Treasury cost 9.2 million go
