Three giants in Haitian medicine honored by President Martelly

On April 7, 2014, World Health Day, President Martelly, on behalf of the State, decorated the top three doctors: Jean William Pape, Edith D. Hudicourt, and Antoine Augustin.

Pape and Hudicourt received badges, awards, and were promoted to the rank of Commander. Dr. Antoine Augustin, was knighted posthumously, and was represented by Dr. Yvette Edouard Augustine, his widow. "On behalf of the nation, I salute the merits of these citizens for their outstanding work that benefitted the country," said President Martelly before recollecting a few highlights from the lives of these personalities "out of the ordinary." Dr. William Pape and Gheskio Centers have rendered so many services to countries in the fight against AIDS
