The Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development (MARNDR) reports that, with the support of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), it has distributed seeds and agricultural materials to nearly 4,200 producers in several municipalities in the South department. These interventions specifically concern Camp-Perrin, Cavaillon, Chardonnières, Torbeck, Port-à-Piment, and Tiburon. Nearly 3,000 farmers received vegetable seed kits, tools, and fertilizers, while 1,200 others benefited from corn and black bean seeds, as well as sweet potato and cassava cuttings and banana plant suckers. According to the ministry, these distributions aim to strengthen agricultural production, diversify crops, and improve food security.
