Gérald Bloncourt

Born on November 4, 1926, in Bainet, in the Southeast, Gérald Bloncourt led a life at the intersection of several disciplines. Painter, engraver, writer, poet, and photographer, he made creation a means of expression and struggle, in favor of workers, the marginalized, and human rights.

His participation in the 1946 Revolution resulted in his expulsion from Haiti at the age of twenty. Settling in France that same year, he would not return to his country until 1986, after the fall of the Duvalier regime.
