Anse-à-Pitres: arrest of an individual for kidnapping and detention

The Haitian National Police (PNH) arrested Jean Sinord Charles, 26, on the night of October 27, after discovering a 13-year-old girl detained in a house in the municipality of Anse-à-Pitres. According to the victim's statements, the individual had met her in Tiotte before taking her to Anse-à-Pitre and keeping her against her will. She claimed to have been sexually abused by the accused. According to the PNH, the latter has acknowledged the facts. Jean Sinord Charles has been placed in police custody at the station for the necessary legal proceedings.
