Elections: the Provisional Electoral Council presents its report, two years after its establishment

CEP

Two years after its establishment, the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) presents its work report. It has recorded 878,217 registered voters as of October 23, 2026, and 4,577 candidates registered for the electoral race, of which 27.7% are women. In a note dated October 25, the institution also reports 1,306 operational registration and voting centers. It emphasizes that several steps remain to be taken, particularly the finalization of the electoral list, staff training, and equipment acquisition. Following consultations with political actors and civil society from October 19 to 23, the CEP plans to rearrange the electoral calendar, but has not announced a new date.<\/p>
