As part of National Awakening, the exhibition “Haiti, the Heart Again” by Philippe Dodard continues at the Karibe Convention Center in Juvénat until Sunday. Inaugurated on Friday, December 16, during the official opening of this event bringing together a host of artists, it invites the public to take a different look at Haiti, beyond the difficulties that characterize its daily life.
Through his paintings, Philippe Dodard explores profound themes related to memory, suffering, displacement, and the history of the Haitian people. His works remind us that behind the crises lie lives, families, memories, and a culture that, despite the trials, continues to endure.
By drawing attention to the wounds and resilience of the Haitian people, the exhibition opens a space for reflection on the role of art in the transmission of collective memory. It thus highlights the ability of artists to testify to their time, to preserve the history of a people, and to keep hope alive.
