Official Launch of the New Haitian Tax Code

The Prime Minister, Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, officially launched the new Haitian Tax Code on Thursday, coinciding with the start of the 2026-2027 fiscal year. "This first modern tax code aims to harmonize and simplify a set of standards that have hitherto been scattered across various laws, decrees, and regulatory texts," he emphasized in his speech. Fils-Aimé advocated for a more coherent, transparent, and equitable tax system capable of strengthening national resource mobilization. For his part, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Serge Gabriel Collin, stated that this reform is important for enhancing the state's capabilities.
