The FRG mandate extended until March 2027 by the UN

Meeting in the Security Council, the UN voted on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, to extend the mandate of the Gang Enforcement Force (FRG) for six months, which will remain in place until March 31, 2027. The resolution received 12 votes in favor, none against, and three abstentions, while providing for the continued logistical and operational support of the UN to the force through UNSOH. The US representative, Michael Waltz, called for maintaining momentum around the FRG, believing that the arrival of contingents must continue and that gangs will not simply disappear, while defending the UN's capacity to carry out this mission.<\/p>
