Jacmel: Teachers mobilized against salary and appointment delays

Teachers demonstrated this Monday, September 28, 2026, at the Departmental Directorate of Education of the South-East, in Jacmel, to demand the payment of several months of salary arrears, including the salary of August, the compensation check, and the 14th month, as well as the distribution of debit cards and their appointments. They also demand respect for the agreement signed on January 20, 2025. Denouncing the low number of appointment letters issued to the department and the lack of appointments in certain new subjects, the protesters threaten to maintain pressure until concrete responses are obtained from the educational authorities.
