The barrel of Brent, the international benchmark for oil, dipped below $100 on Monday, while the U.S. equivalent, WTI, was down more than 5%, as the market anticipated new diplomatic discussions regarding the war in the Middle East, notably with the UN General Assembly taking place this week in New York.
At around 10:15 GMT (11:15 in Paris), the price of Brent crude oil for November delivery was down 4.02% at $99.69. The barrel of West Texas Intermediate for October delivery fell 5.06% to $95.22.
