Meeting between the French ambassador and the Minister of Justice on security and judicial cooperation

The French ambassador to Haiti, Gautier Lekens, met on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, with the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Patrick Pélissier. According to a statement from the embassy, the discussions focused on the security situation and France's support for the modernization of Haitian justice and the strengthening of the Haitian National Police (PNH) capabilities. This support includes training and operational capacity assistance. As part of this cooperation, about twenty Haitian legal professionals recently traveled to France for training dedicated to criminal reform in Haiti.
