The Group of Eminent Persons (GEP) of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) urges, in a statement dated September 14, international partners to ramp up their efforts to fulfill commitments made regarding security for Haiti at the United Nations Security Council. This call comes following a GEP mission to Haiti from September 2 to 9, 2026, during which its members met with numerous political actors and representatives of civil society. This visit allowed CARICOM to assess the political situation and open a dialogue on preparations for the first round of elections, scheduled for December 13, 2026.<\/p>
