The holder of the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP), Vijonet Déméro, and the superintendent of the Methodist Church of Haiti, Reverend Gelin Rosamour, signed an agreement on September 1, 2026, officializing the nationalization of the Trou-Jacques Methodist School (Anse-à-Galets, La Gonâve). According to the ministry, the establishment thus changes from a presbyterial status to a public one, with the MENFP covering operating expenses, providing textbooks, materials, and furniture, as well as overseeing pedagogical and administrative supervision. This initiative follows the nationalization in June of the Source-à-Philippe Methodist School and is part of the ministry's policy to expand and diversify educational offerings, the MENFP stated.
