Oil continued to rise on Friday, with a barrel of Brent gaining 0.55% to $108.22 in early Asian trading, after surging 6.34% the previous day following strikes on vessels in the Gulf.

The price of North American WTI, for its part, rose 0.58% to $103.07, after jumping 6.7% on Thursday.

Prices now appear firmly anchored above the $100 mark, at their highest level since May, weighing on motorists’ wallets and on the economy.
