America Commemorates 9/11 a Quarter-Century Later

The United States paid tribute Friday to the victims of the September 11 attacks, 25 years ago, with a remembrance ceremony in New York at the heart of the commemorations, without Donald Trump but in the presence of four of his predecessors.

At “Ground Zero,” the site of the former World Trade Center twin towers, relatives of the victims spent the entire morning solemnly reading the names of the nearly 3,000 people who died, in a section of Lower Manhattan closed off for the occasion.

“Every year, it is a very difficult time for
