Southeast: The Government Strengthens Its Support for the Electoral Process

A government delegation led by the Secretary of State for Communication, Joseph Lucien Jura, met on Friday, September 4, 2026, with authorities from the Southeast regarding support for the electoral process. The meeting, held at the Convention Center in Jacmel, notably brought together representatives from the CEP, the PNH, the ONI, local authorities, and the FENAMH. The discussions focused on the progress and challenges related to electoral preparations. The president of the BED in the Southeast, Kesnel Petion, raised concerns regarding certain registration and voting centers located in school facilities. For his part, the departmental director of the ONI, Désilus Phanol, explained the difficulties faced by some citizens in retrieving their national identification cards. He urged them to file a complaint with the ONI before undertaking any new procedures.<\/p>
