Elections: the EDE party registers its 30,000 members but contests the electoral calendar

The Engagés pour le Développement (EDE) party announces that it has completed the registration of the 30,000 members required to participate in the electoral process on the platform of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP). While reaffirming its commitment to democratic values, EDE considers the holding of elections on December 13, 2026, to be unrealistic, denouncing the political, security, and technical uncertainties surrounding the schedule established by the CEP, according to a party statement. The party calls on Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé to quickly convene the main stakeholders in order to define a credible and applicable electoral calendar, a condition deemed essential to restore trust and guarantee free and transparent elections.
