The MTPTC Advocates for a Comprehensive Approach at the 11th Edition of "Thursday of Territories"

The Ministry of Public Works, Transport, and Communications (MTPTC) has advocated for a comprehensive strategy based on the ongoing maintenance of infrastructure, preventive rehabilitation of vulnerable structures, and watershed management. This call was made during the 11th edition of the "Thursday of Territories" held on August 27, 2026, at the Emergency Room of the General Directorate of Civil Protection (DGPC). "This approach is accompanied by an increased demand for compliance with modern seismic and cyclone-resistant construction standards, which must be supported by sustainable funding, emphasized MTPTC Minister Engineer Joseph Almathe Pierre Louis. The event, which brought together decision-makers and experts, was centered around the theme: "Cyclone Season 2026: How can the monitoring of risk and natural disaster management contribute to development and territorial planning?"
