The organization American Cancer Association held, on Saturday, August 1, 2026, the groundbreaking ceremony for its future hospital specializing in cancer treatment, in the locality of Dera, in Milot, in the North Department. This initiative aims to provide Haiti with a reference center for the care of cancer patients, at a time when many patients are still forced to travel abroad, particularly to the Dominican Republic and Cuba, to receive specialized treatment.
