It is 5:40 a.m. when the 71-seat aircraft, marked with the orange inscription “Sunrise Airways - One Caribbean,” takes off for Boston on this Tuesday, March 17, 2026. A few journalists, some travel agency owners, a few VIPs, and some trusting passengers who had purchased their tickets as soon as the announcement was made are on board. This is Sunrise’s very first flight linking Haiti—specifically the North—to this part of the United States, which is heavily populated by the Haitian diaspora.
