The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Ministry of the Environment (MDE), and the Japan officially inaugurated the Morne Casse Solid Waste Landfill on Friday, January 30, 2026, located in the municipality of Fort-Liberté. Implemented as part of the project to strengthen the solid waste management system in Haiti, this major infrastructure aims to sustainably improve waste management in the Nord-Est department.
