CPT End-of-Year Greetings Ceremony: Address by Canada’s Ambassador André François Giroux

While taking part in the official ceremony for the presentation of year-end wishes of the Transitional Presidential Council (TPC) on Tuesday, December 16, the Canadian Ambassador to Haiti, André François Giroux, welcomed the international mobilization behind the Gang Suppression Force (GSF). “But for it to be successful, this exceptional commitment by the international community must be accompanied by a resolute commitment from the Haitian authorities to ensure the strengthening of national security forces and to combat arms and drug trafficking by mobilizing all services, particularly customs,” the diplomat urged. Below we publish the ambassador’s speech, in which he recalled that the mandate of the Transitional Presidential Council will come to an end “in a few weeks.”
