Downtown Ouanaminthe was the scene of a protest movement led by agents of the Protected Areas Security Brigade (BSAP). The protesters are demanding their salaries. They say they have never been paid.
Riding in all-terrain vehicles and on motorcycles, the protesters traveled through several streets of the downtown area to make their voices heard. Wearing their uniforms and sounding their sirens, some displayed their weapons in a show of force intended to draw the attention of the competent authorities.
