A Canadian province extended an olive branch to Donald Trump on Friday by withdrawing an advertising campaign opposing the increase in U.S. tariffs—a campaign that had angered him and prompted him the day before to break off trade negotiations with Canada.

“After discussions with Prime Minister (of Canada) Mark Carney, Ontario will suspend its advertising campaign in the United States starting Monday to allow trade negotiations to resume,” Doug Ford announced on X.
