For several days, reports—particularly on social media—have shown clear signs of a rise in kidnappings in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince, following a significant decrease over the past few months. The communes of Delmas and Pétion-Ville are reportedly the most affected by this resurgence of abductions. Speaking on the Panel Magik radio program on Thursday, October 23, 2025, the Executive Director of the Episcopal Commission for Justice and Peace (CE-JILAP), Jocelyne Colas, confirmed this trend.
