Two new names have been added to the list of individuals sanctioned by the United States and the United Nations: Dimitri Hérard, former commander of the General Security Unit of the National Palace (USGPN), and the Bel-Air gang leader, Sanon Kempes. Indeed, early on Friday, October 17, 2025, the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced sanctions against both men. Later that afternoon, they were also added to the UN sanctions list following a Security Council vote renewing the sanctions regime for another year.
