Born on November 30, 1947, Robert Denis grew up in an environment deeply steeped in music. His aunt gave piano and music theory lessons in their large family home, while his father, a passionate music lover, nurtured a strong appreciation for classical and American jazz music. From the age of seven, young Robert immersed himself in this sonic world, and as a teenager began collecting jazz records. This early exposure nourished what he would later describe as being “addicted to music.”
