Rector Wilfrid Azarre Steps Down from Public University of Lower Artibonite

Two days after the publication of the ULCC’s investigation report on the functioning of the UPBAS, which implicated him, Rector Wilfrid Azarre submitted his letter of resignation to the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP).

Received by the MENFP on Monday, September 29, 2025, and communicated to the newspaper the following day, Dr. Wilfrid Azarre’s two-page letter outlines his record of the 20 months spent at the head of the university “with the soul of a seasoned educator.”
