Cap-Haïtien hosts the first consultations for the 2025–2030 Economic Recovery Plan

The government, through the Ministry of Economy and Finance, launched in Cap-Haïtien the first consultations for the 2025–2030 Recovery and Development Plan. While the initiative is appealing for its participatory approach and the stated support of international donors, local actors remain cautious: they are demanding concrete actions and fear that these workshops will amount to nothing more than a communications exercise.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) organized, on Thursday, September 4 and Friday, September 5, two days of regional consultations in Cap-Haïtien as part of the development of the 2025–2030 Economic Recovery and Development Plan. This initiative, led by Minister Alfred Fils Métellus, aims to involve local governments, municipalities, the private sector, civil society, and the youth of the Greater North in defining the country’s economic priorities.
