September Will Be Crucial for Haiti at the UN as U.S. Cuts Back Funding

The Haiti file is on the agenda of the UN Security Council during the month of September 2025. “Regarding the Americas, the Security Council will consider reconfiguring the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSSM) in Haiti, whose mandate expires on October 2, into a multinational mission to combat armed gangs, as well as the creation of a United Nations support office for this purpose,” reads a summary of the council’s agenda on the information site Security Council Report titled “Program of Work for the
