Disip of Gazzman Couleur: The Shining Sound of Compas

Founded in 2010 by Gazzman Couleur after his departure from Nu-Look, Disip has released four studio albums and undergone multiple musical reshufflings over its fifteen years of existence.

Formed in March 2010 in Miami, Disip marks a decisive stage in the career of the singer, born Gasman Pierre on August 22, 1966, in Gonaïves. Orphaned of his father at the age of four, he grew up with his mother, Anociade Saint-Juste, in a football-loving family where his elder brother, Sonche Pierre, became coach of the national team. Forced to leave Haiti for the United States at age eight due to political instability, he turned definitively to music after a knee injury in 1995 ended a promising sports career.
