Pierre Raymond Divers, born in 1962, grew up between Haiti and the United States, with his mother Rosette Divers, a pastor, and his grandmother Anne Divers. Early on, the future King Kino developed his skills as a multi-instrumentalist within Protestant choirs, before joining, in the early 1980s, the underground rock band Partners.
