Missile 727 and Larose: An Accidental Rise to Fame

When Montreal brought together Larose and former members of Méridional, Missile 727 was born — an intense musical adventure marked by hits such as Accident and Mandela.

Joseph Dieudonné Larose, born on June 5, 1945, in Cabaret, embodies forty-three years of Haitian musical career. A son of the North, with roots in Jacmel, the Artibonite, and Limbé, he began in the 1970s in neighborhood bands before joining Shoogar Combo, his first real professional springboard.

His career took a decisive turn with DP Express in 1982, followed by a brief stint with Dixie Band in 1987. These experiences shaped a unique style blending konpa, Spanish ballads, Afro-Caribbean rhythms, and social engagement
