Mizik Mizik was born in 1986 during the first “Konkou Mizik” competition, organized by American Airlines under the theme “Mwen renmen Ayiti” (I Love Haiti). The group ranked seventh out of 309 participants with the song “Viv Ayiti.” As Fabrice Rouzier recalls: “Right afterward, I left to continue my university studies in the United States, where I explored different genres: cumbia, salsa, reggae.” While pursuing his academic training, he opened himself to new musical horizons.
