The story of the band begins in December 1966, when Herman Nau, former trumpet player in the Pétion-Ville high school marching band, and Albert Chancy Jr. decide to form an orchestra. They are soon joined by Michelot Benjamin, Jean Robert Sampeur, William Aliscar, Reynold Duverglas, and Jean Bernard Dorga. Together, they first call themselves “Los Incognitos.”
